Stopping at Frog Level Brewing — Waynesville’s Beer & Food Gem

We recently made a swing out to Waynesville, NC, and one stop absolutely stuck with us: Frog Level Brewing. If you love brewery culture — great beer and food, convivial energy — this spot is a must-stop. We tried their double smashburger and brisket tacos (so good!), hung in cozy corners with great ambiance, met a few new friends, and felt right at home. The staff were warm, welcoming, and clearly proud of what they make.

Waynesville itself is a beautiful town nestled just outside Pisgah National Forest. Officially founded in 1810 by Col. Robert Love, it was later incorporated in 1871. As of the 2020 census, Waynesville’s population was about 10,140 people. Over time the town has grown in reputation as a gateway to mountain life — with scenic landscapes, historic streets, and a thriving local culture.

The name Frog Level comes from the low-lying area along Richland Creek, prone to flooding — hence “frog level” when waters rise. In fact, when Hurricane Helene struck in September 2024, floodwaters overwhelmed the Historic Frog Level District and impacted businesses in that area, including Frog Level Brewing itself. The Depot Street bridge was also damaged, limiting access and making recovery tougher.

What impressed us: even through floods and challenges, Frog Level persevered. They still offer beer, food, community, and energy. They also carry taps from 7 Clans Brewing, a brand that unfortunately closed after Helene (so seeing that legacy live on in taps feels like honoring it).

We’re heading back soon for a “beer date” — who’s coming? 🍺

If you’re exploring WNC breweries or planning a mountain escape, slip into Waynesville and let Frog Level be one of your first stops.

🔥 Real Talk, Breweries.

If you’ve got the beer, the space, and the dream — but not the growth you deserve — it’s time for a reality check. We’ve been building brands, driving traffic, and shaping the Asheville brewery scene for years. And the truth is simple: the ones who listened to strategy, storytelling, and community connection won big.

The ones who didn’t? Many lost ground… and some lost everything. We’ve seen millions of dollars vanish because folks listened to the wrong people — the comfortable, the fearful, the local gatekeepers who said, “That’s not how we do it here.”

Remember when Highland Brewing passed up opening on the South Slope? They’re still successful, sure — but they could’ve doubled or tripled their impact and ROI with the right vision. Location, connection, and energy matter.

Your brewery doesn’t need more ads. It needs strategy. It needs soul. It needs relationship-driven media that converts fans into family.

We’ve got the blueprint — the medicine for what’s missing in your brand: real strategy, content that moves, social that actually connects, and leadership that builds culture instead of chaos.

So here’s the call:
👉 Fire the fluff.
👉 Skip the family-and-friends marketing.
👉 Let’s get down to business and build something that lasts.

Your beer deserves better than basic.
Your brand deserves results.
And your story deserves to be told right.

Let’s pour into it — together. 🍺
