As healing begins across Asheville, one image stands out: the Samaritan’s Purse construction trailer parked on Wood Ave, and just beyond it—a home they are rebuilding, rising from the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
.
This modest scene embodies a powerful truth: Samaritan’s Purse came to Western North Carolina, and they stayed—working in droves to support our community like never before. Volunteers left their homes, traveled hundreds of miles, and rolled up their sleeves to help our neighbors rebuild—not just houses, but lives.
.
📅 When and how did their response begin?

They deployed over 5,700 volunteers to Western North Carolina, and national efforts reached across 15 states responding to 32 disasters in 2024 alone.
