Founded in 1983 in the basement of Eliada Homes, MANNA FoodBank began with a modest goal: to distribute 40,000 pounds of food in its first year. From these humble beginnings, MANNA has grown exponentially, now serving 16 counties across Western North Carolina, including the Qualla Boundary. Through a network of over 220 partner agencies, MANNA provides essential food assistance to more than 133,000 individuals every month.

Within days, MANNA secured an emergency lease for a new warehouse in Mills River, Henderson County.
