If you’re looking for a spot where craft beer, good food, and local spirit converge, look no further than Hi‑Wire Brewing right at the edge of Asheville’s charming Biltmore Village. We recently stopped by for a laid-back afternoon of brews, bites, and new friends—and the experience was a full win.
Brew & Bite in Biltmore Village: A Visit to Hi-Wire Brewing + Guajiro Food Truck

Located just behind the excellent beer & wine shop Appalachian Vintner, this taproom boasts a massive lineup of craft brews, creative cocktails, fun swag, games, and good company. But one of the biggest stars? The permanently stationed food truck outside: Guajiro Cuban Comfort Food—serving up Cuban classics right next to your pint

That combo is powerful. We found ourselves sipping Hi-Wire’s rich IPA, chatting with friendly fellow guests, and digging into Guajiro’s yuca fries and slow-cooked Cuban pork. We’ve relied on this spot countless times—especially when nearby at Mission Hospital—and have always found refuge here.

🌀 The Comeback Story
Here’s where the roots run deep: Both Hi-Wire and Guajiro were hit hard by Hurricane Helene’s flooding in late 2024. The storm left swaths of Biltmore Village submerged and businesses scrambling. Hi-Wire’s Biltmore Village taproom sustained damage but managed to reopen relatively quickly. Meanwhile, Guajiro lost almost everything—their food truck was swept away by floodwaters in the River Arts District. But thanks to community support and Hi-Wire offering them space outside their Biltmore Village location, Guajiro found a new home and opened November 16, 2024.
