One year ago, Hurricane Helene swept through Western North Carolina, leaving behind devastating floods that changed communities forever. Swannanoa was hit hard — businesses and families displaced, homes destroyed, and lives uprooted. But in the middle of the storm’s aftermath, something remarkable happened: neighbors rose up for neighbors, and local businesses became lifelines.
Blunt Pretzels Hosts 1-Year Remembrance Celebration After Hurricane Helene

Blunt Pretzels, a beloved Swannanoa staple, was one of those businesses. Known for their authentic German-style pretzels, beer cheese, and family-friendly vibe, they became more than a gathering place — they became a hub of hope. Partnering with World Central Kitchen, Blunt Pretzels and their team rolled up their sleeves and served meals to the community, right out of their shop. When so much was lost, they gave what they had: food, warmth, and a reminder that no storm could erase our spirit.

Now, one year later, Blunt Pretzels is inviting everyone back to celebrate resilience with their Still Standing Celebration.

📅 Saturday, Sept 27, 2025
🕚 11 AM – 6 PM

The day will feature live music, games, a free community cookout, and even Helene Bingo. It’s more than an event — it’s a chance to reflect, remember, and celebrate the strength we’ve built together.
We’re still standing, still sharing meals, and still holding each other up. Join Blunt Pretzels and the Swannanoa community in honoring this moment. 💛
Just like Blunt Pretzels stepped up to feed the community in a time of need, our media team feeds businesses what they need to not just stabilize, but thrive. The right support online and face-to-face allows companies to grow strong, serve their communities with the goods and services people want, and keep our local economy alive.
In the end, everyone is sustained, and our communities grow like never before. Don’t let a weak media presence hold your business — and your future — back.
