After hearing the buzz all around town, we finally made it to Soprana Rooftop Cucina—and yes, it absolutely delivered. A group of friends who were in town for a wedding celebration told us their go‑to evening spot was Soprana. That was our cue: it was time to go.

Located in the lobby of the Embassy Suites by Hilton Asheville Downtown (192 Haywood St.), the building greeted us with style—inviting, comfortable, and just elegant enough. Elevator up to the 7th‑floor rooftop! We visited after dark, soaking in sweeping city and mountain views. Locals rave about the daytime vistas too, so yes—we’ll be returning for brunch or sunset lunch.
Within our first hour we bumped into old friends who had returned to town for a visit, and even met a new friend from Greenville, SC—one meal, new connections, all in motion. The host and server were on point: friendly, professional, sociable. We ordered one of their pizza pies—WOW, so good. The sourcing is real: local partners like Chop Shop Butchery, Hickory Nut Gap Farm, Mountain Food Products and Spicewalla make this spot one of Asheville’s standout kitchens. We skipped dessert this time (other stops awaited), but we’ll be back soon for the sweets–and the company.
