Mark your calendars: Saturday, December 13, 2025, in downtown Asheville at the Explore Asheville Arena (87 Haywood Street, Asheville NC 28801), music history happens again with the 33rd edition of the Christmas Jam, curated by Asheville’s own rock-&-roll legend Warren Haynes. This year’s event carries extra meaning: after the devastation of Hurricane Helene and the 2024 cancellation, the Jam returns as a beacon of revival.
A little history first
Haynes started the Jam back in 1988 at a small club in Asheville, calling it “Musician’s X-mas Reunion”. Over the decades it has grown into an annual marathon of sound and community—raising funds for the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity and benefiting local folks in the process. Last year’s storm forced a pause; 2025 is about reclaiming the joy.
Who’s playing?
-
Warren Haynes & Friends: Asheville native, Grammy-winning guitarist, longtime member of Gov’t Mule and the Allman Brothers Band.
-
Stone Temple Pilots: Alternative rock titans from San Diego, formed in 1989. Big hits: “Plush,” “Interstate Love Song.”
-
MJ Lenderman & The Wind: Asheville-born songwriter bringing indie-rock meets alt-country sound.
-
Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country: Nashville-based guitarist/bandleader mixing outlaw country, psychedelia and jam-band energy.
-
Tribute to Phil Lesh: with Haynes, Grahame Lesh, Jimmy Herring, John Molo, Jason Crosby. A nod to the Grateful Dead legacy and Asheville’s musical heart.
This year, the Jam isn’t just a concert—it’s a statement of resilience, music and community. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or a first-timer, you’ll be part of something big. Grab tickets when they drop, get ready to feel the energy, and know you’re supporting more than a show—you’re supporting Asheville.
