Downtown Hendersonville is once again alive with color, creativity, and community spirit as the Bearfootin’ Art Walk returns for its 22nd year. This cherished tradition, which began in 2003, showcases 20 uniquely designed bear sculptures crafted by local artists, each representing a local nonprofit organization. The bears were unveiled on May 7, 2025, during a festive event at the Hendersonville Welcome Center Stage on South Main Street.

The Bearfootin’ Art Walk is more than just a display of artistic talent; it’s a testament to Hendersonville’s commitment to community engagement and support for local causes. Each bear sculpture is sponsored by a local business or individual, with proceeds from the sponsorships and subsequent auction benefiting both the Friends of Downtown Hendersonville and the respective nonprofit organizations. Notably, winning bids up to $3,000 are split evenly between the downtown program and the nonprofit, while amounts exceeding $3,000 are directed entirely to the nonprofit.

From now through October, visitors can stroll along Main Street to admire these vibrant bear sculptures. Each bear tells a story, reflecting the mission and values of its associated nonprofit. This self-guided tour offers a delightful way to experience downtown Hendersonville, with brochures available at the Hendersonville Welcome Center to guide your journey.

The excitement culminates in the Bearfootin’ Bear Auction, where these artistic creations find permanent homes. The auction will be held virtually, with bidding opening on September 25, 2025, and concluding on October 25, 2025 . This format allows participants from near and far to engage in the bidding process, ensuring widespread support for the featured nonprofits.
