Asheville Foodie News December 2021 – 11 Things You Need To Know

There are so many things happening on the Asheville Foodie scene! We put together a quick list of some food news in the area that you may not know about. Sometimes we get stuck with our daily, weekly, and monthly routine and don’t venture out much to try something new. Well now is the time to change it up a little and check out these new spots!

First & foremost, did you know that Asheville now has a BUBBLE TEA truck? It roams around town, just like a food truck, and they have so many tasty options for you to try!

Next up is Garage BBQ, and they are just finishing up their food truck, getting ready to jump into 2022 with barbecue pork, chicken, salmon, and over 30 sauces to choose from! Wait until you see this customized Sprinter food truck! They’ve been working on it for about 6 months now, so it better be nice.

Since we’re talking about barbecue, Huli Sue’s BBQ & Grill just opened up in the Grove Arcade downtown, along with other great eateries such as Modesto, Baba Nahm, Carmel’s Kitchen, and Nani’s Chicken. There are also many shops here, along with an outdoor market on the weekend.

Craving Indian food in Asheville? Well this new spot called Andaaz opened up in Biltmore Village and my friends are saying it is the best they have ever had. We need to get down there soon!

The Aloha Cafe is a Hawaiian/Asian restaurant in downtown Asheville that has been open for awhile, but have not made any headlines yet. But it’s so good! A great little spot to get you PHO on, along with the other great plates they offer.

Looking for sushi? Madness Sushi & Burger Bar in Candler has now expanded to north Asheville on Merrimon Avenue. They have bento boxes that come with sushi and a burger, and lots of other tasty dishes to choose from.

Another spot that we recently checked out was Ukiah Japanese Smokehouse and enjoyed the food and craft cocktails. They are located right across the street from the Orange Peel in downtown Asheville.

If you have not been to Griff’s Kitchen & Bar in Candler, on the westside, you need to put this place on your list! Everything is made from scratch, so fresh and delicious.

A new dessert option called Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is getting ready to open up on Merrimon Avenue in north Asheville and we can’t wait to check this place out. Now you can get Whit’s Custard, Hop Ice Cream, Yolo Frozen Yogurt, and Jeremiah’s Italian Ice all on the same strip!

Asheville is sort of known for it’s many craft coffee bean roasters. A new coffeehouse named Rowan Coffee has just recently opened up downtown, in the old building that use to house Bruisin Ales beer store. Love this spot!

A yummy breakfast, lunch, and brunch spot is now open on Long Shoals Road in south Asheville and it is named Abuela’s Little Kitchen. We stopped by and had such a great meal.
